Kindergarten Snow Globes
Keeping with our Winter theme, our kindergarten students created these snow globes! Using white crayons and blue water color, they created the snow and added either a snowman or christmas tree with construction paper. The kindergarten students also learned how to draw a tree with no leaves using the letters Y and V.
Winter Trees
It's that time of year in Ohio again! We've had a very mild winter, but the snow is finally here. The first grade students learned to draw trees with no leaves by using the letters Y and V and then we added snow with a white crayon and painted with water color to achieve a "stained glass" affect. All were successful!

Clay Projects
My favorite time of year is coming up...TIME FOR CLAY! Every year I do a different clay project with each grade I teach. It is A LOT of work, but ALWAYS very worth it. I save it for half way throug the school year for two reasons: the kiln warms up the buildings when it is snowing:), and also because it is a HUGE motivator! Everyone loves clay! Here are some past projects.
My first post
The first grade students are learning about pop artist, Wayne Thiebaud and are drawing some fantastic cupcakes inspired by him.
The fourth graders just finished up some tree paintings inspired by Gustav Klimt's Tree of life painting and are beginning a printmaking project this week. We will be making some "itty bitty" cities based on some photos of skylines from cities around the world.
