Its been a while! I haven't posted on here in forever because it has been much more convenient for me to post to my instgram account @whyiloveart. Please, come follow me!
I'll add some photos here of what we have been up to at Price. This is just a random selection of photos from our school art show and the Cuyahoga Falls All City Art Walk.
First grade "friendship" paintings inspired by artists Jasper Johns and Jackson Pollock.
Second grade students created these stacked hot cocoa mug still life mixed media art inspired by the art of contemporary artist, Heather Galler.
There is no way to photograph these amazing peacocks to show off their beauty. These stunning sculptures were created by our third grade students. The idea was inspired by our students who originated from Southeast Asia and Nepal. Peacocks are native to these areas and I had a few students request an art project inspired by these beautiful birds. I don't have a photo, but these were displayed at the art show with tealights flickering inside. ( I know..how did I not get a photo!?)
I'm sure if you ask our fifth grade students what their favorite art project this year was, most would answer...BOBBLEHEADS. These ceramic bobbleheads were all so unique. They were a lot of work, but I am so proud of our kiddos for completing them.
These wire/plaster sculptures were inspired by artists Keith Haring and Alberto Giocometti. Created by 4th grade students, each sculpture was supposed to depict a figure in motion that related to the artist somehow. There was a written statement to go along with each one.
Second grade focused on creating Tints and Shades of one color for these monochromatic ice cream cones.
Some adorable "fork tulips" created by kindergarten students for Mother's Day.
Another awesome fourth grade project. These radial weavings on repurposed CDs have become a fourth grade art class staple. They're fun, they're resourceful and when displayed as a mural together, they're just beautiful! Here is our display at the Cuyahoga Falls Public Library.
5th grade paintings
Some of our 5th grade Cacti/Succulent Still life drawings which were a HUGE favorite.
Our community weaving wall. This was a big hit at the art show! We were creating art, together.
Here are my boys and I in front of the Weaving Wall.
This table was set up for students and their families to draw their family portraits on. It will be on display at the start of school.
Here is one of our auction items for the chair auction at the Art Walk.
My boys posing for the Van Gogh inspired Art Op at the Art Walk.
Some end of the year projects we loved...hot air balloon paintings by 1st grade.
Op Art Cubes created by 3-5 to end the year.
